What is Reformer Pilates?Reformer Pilates was invented by Pilates founder Joseph Pilates. The practice is on a bed-like frame that uses different weighted spring combinations to create resistance when we move the carriage back and forth. Using a reformer bed means you can target those small muscle groups, which helps to form long, lean muscles. You can do more exercises than what’s possible on the mat and have a play with a wide range of movements – from sitting and lying on your back or side to balancing on your knees and using your feet.
Who is Reformer Pilates For?All of our instructors are expertly skilled. This means that Pilates can be for everyone. We want our clients to feel empowered and confident within their bodies and minds, regardless of their age, ability or fitness level.
Can I do Reformer Pilates if I am Pregnant?Body glow Pilates Studio encourages and supports pregnant clients throughout their pregnancy and postpartum journey. Pregnant clients under 16 weeks will be accommodated accordingly in our reformer sessions If you are 16 weeks or over your instructor will modify your session to your ability and pregnancy requirements. If you are experiencing complications in your pregnancy you must provide a written clearance letter from your doctor or OBGYN to participate in reformer Pilates sessions. Please ensure you let your instructor know if you are pregnant and if any of your needs change during your pregnancy.
Can I do Reformer Pilates after having a baby?Body glow Pilates Studio encourages and supports pregnant clients throughout their pregnancy and postpartum journey. If you are given permission from your doctor or OBGYN to return to light exercise after your 6 week postpartum check up, you are welcome to attend session ensuring you let your instructor know of any issues or concerns.
